Monster Hunter Wilds version 1.041 update patch notes

Major Additions and Changes

Monsters

  • Arch-tempered Arkveld has been added as a permanent Event Quest.

  • We’ve added new, challenging quests at the 10★ difficulty level for Arch-tempered Rey Dau, Uth Duna, Nu Udra, and Jin Dahaad. These quests are now available as permanent events.

Player

  • New equipment and pendants have been added.

Story Progression

  • A new side mission, «A Royal Request,» is now available in Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection. You can start this mission once you reach Hunter Rank 9 or higher.

  • A new side quest, «Love for a Hero,» is now available. You can start it after finishing the «Ghosts Pay No Heed to Tomorrow» quest and speaking with Nadia and Mina.

Bases and Facilities

  • Added a new feature to the Melding Pot that allows you to meld Gogma materials.

  • After you reach Hunter Rank 9, you can now get random ingredients at the Ingredient Center!

  • We’ve added new items called «Timeworn Charms» to the rewards you get from completing quests. These charms can increase your chances of finding rare Talismans, but the Talismans themselves haven’t changed.

  • We’ve increased the number of Pop-Up Camps available in the Windward Plains, Scarlet Forest, and Oilwell Basin. You can unlock this by speaking with the Pop-up Camp Meowster or visiting the Support Desk after finishing the «Germination» assignment.

  • We’ve added a «Retry» button to the Barrel Bowling results screen so you can quickly play again. You can now also redeem 10 Barrel Bowling Vouchers at once to claim all your rewards immediately.

  • We’ve made Blossom Barrel Bombs, used in Barrel Bowling, behave differently than the standard Large Barrel Bombs used elsewhere. To go along with this change, we’ve also added new ways these bombs are placed in the game.

  • We’ve shortened the wait time in Barrel Bowling, allowing players to launch their next barrel even while the score from the previous throw is still visible.

System

  • Reduced CPU/GPU processing and made adjustments to lower the load on the game.

  • We’ve improved 3D model performance by automatically adjusting their detail based on how close they are to the viewer. This reduces strain on your computer’s graphics card without sacrificing visual quality.

  • Optimized monster and endemic life spawn-time processing to reduce CPU load.

  • Added effect caching to decrease CPU load when generating duplicate effects.

  • Optimized rendering processes to reduce CPU/GPU load.

  • Performed other minor adjustments to lower the overall load.

  • These five challenging quests—The White Wonder, Ultimate Berserker, The Monkey King, Sovereign Brute, and There Goes the Neighborhood—are now available to play anytime!

  • We’ve added a new quest that takes place in a special environment. You’ll be able to start it after you’ve finished the three other special environment quests and completed the 10-star Arch-tempered Arkveld event quest.

  • Okay, so this is really handy! When I hit that ‘Quest Last Played’ button up top at the Quest Counter, the game now remembers where I last started the quest from and sends me there automatically. If for some reason that spot isn’t available anymore – maybe something changed in the game – then I’ll just start back at base camp like normal. It saves me a bit of time re-selecting my starting point, which is awesome!

  • We’ve updated how event quests are displayed to clearly show when a player is offline when you’re looking to accept or join one.

  • Added a Refresh button to the search results list for SOS Flare Quests.

  • Added Thai as a text language. Text language can be changed in the title menu options.

  • We’ve added Latin American Spanish as a new voice language option. You can change the voice language in the options menu, accessible from the title screen.

  • We’ve added a new «Favorited Items Safeguard» option to the Start Menu. When enabled, this prevents players from accidentally using their favorited items in certain facilities by disabling the confirmation button. You can always switch back to the previous «Require Confirmation» setting in the same menu.

  • We’ve added a button on the Invitation List screen that lets you review all the details before submitting a shared equipment loadout for registration.

  • We’ve added a button at the Smithy that lets you quickly switch between the ‘Upgrade from Box’ and ‘Transcending’ screens.

  • We improved the way the game looks when you get near Werner or Gemma, the Hunting Assistants. Now it’s clearer to see where they are and where their tools are located.

  • You can now play all nine previously online-only permanent event quests offline! For specific dates and details, please check the Event Quest schedule. This includes quests like Heart of Judecca (featuring Arch-tempered Jin Dahaad) and Specter of Their Sins (Gogmazios).

  • All 29 event quests that let you collect materials for equipment are now available to play anytime, even offline. Check the event quest schedule for specific details.

Miscellaneous

  • We’ve fixed an issue that caused the Handler to accidentally bump into the hunter during hunts or exploration. You can now also choose to completely hide the Handler from view during a hunt if you prefer.

Bug Fixes and Balance Adjustments

Bases and Facilities

  • We fixed a bug that caused pins to disappear or scores to be incorrect if a player threw a barrel immediately before starting a game of Barrel Bowling.

Monsters

  • We resolved a problem that caused inconsistent results when Lagiacrus and Rathalos battled for territory, ensuring all players see the same outcome.

  • We fixed a problem that caused a vulnerable spot to show up at the wrong time during Rompopolo’s poisonous gas attack.

  • We fixed a bug in the Gogmazios quest where dropped Compact Anti-Wyvern Guns wouldn’t always be visible.

  • We’ve resolved a problem in the Jin Dahaad, Tempered Jin Dahaad, and Arch-tempered Jin Dahaad quests. Previously, the monster would sometimes move to the final area without the player, blocking progress. Now, both the player and monster should move to the final area as intended.

Player

  • General

    • As a player, I was really glad to see they fixed that bug where the little pop-up messages about skill effects ending weren’t showing up properly if I switched weapons mid-effect. It was confusing not knowing when things were actually wearing off, so it’s great that’s been cleared up!

    • We fixed a bug that allowed the player’s slinger attacks to unintentionally hit Fabius during Gogmazios’s special attack.

  • Sword & Shield

    • We fixed a bug where certain items would briefly vanish from the Radial Menu when using things like traps with your sword and shield drawn.

  • Dual Blades

    • We fixed a bug that caused your character to move strangely after hitting Gogmazios with an airborne Focus Strike while using Dual Blades.

  • Bowguns

    • Fixed an issue causing unintended elemental effects to be displayed on Artian weapons.

  • Skills

    • We fixed a bug where an incorrect icon showing increased elemental resistance would appear when the «Protective Veil I» skill was used. This skill doesn’t actually increase elemental resistance, so the icon was misleading.

  • Support Hunters

    • We fixed a bug that caused Support Hunters to accidentally fire their Compact Anti-Wyvern Guns while riding Seikret, even when not targeting Gogmazios.

    • Fixed an issue where Support Hunters may stop to carve Gogmazios’s severed tail during the quest.

    • We fixed a bug where Fabius would stop protecting the group if the player controlling the quest changed while fighting Gogmazios’s special attack.

    • We fixed a problem that caused Fabius’s guard to move in the wrong direction when Gogmazios used his special attack.

    • We fixed a problem that caused Support Hunters to stand in the open during Jin Dahaad’s powerful area attack. They will now take cover, protecting them from the attack.

    • We fixed a problem that caused Support Hunters to mistakenly target Omega Planetes instead of the Nerscylla when it was preparing its Delta Attack.

    • We fixed a bug where Support Hunters weren’t fully protected by their shields during the Delta Attack from Omega Planetes, allowing them to take damage.

    • We fixed a problem that prevented Support Hunters from entering or leaving the underwater area during the Lagiacrus hunt.

Miscellaneous

  • System

    • Okay, so I’ve noticed this while playing: if I really beat up a big monster during a Field Survey, even if it’s not the one I’m supposed to be fighting, it seems like the game is more willing to let me fight it later on. Basically, doing a lot of damage to a monster lowers the health requirement for it to show up as a target in future surveys. It’s cool because I can start weakening tough enemies even if they aren’t part of the current quest!

    • We fixed a bug that caused unnecessary messages to appear in Special Environment Quests. These messages would show when monsters left the area, even though other monsters of the same type were already part of the quest.

    • We fixed a problem where the text for the Cosmetic DLC Pass wasn’t showing up properly in the Add-ons section of the Support Desk menu.

    • Hey everyone, just wanted to let you know I found a fix for a little annoyance I was having. I couldn’t change the pattern thickness on my Whitewing Caparison when customizing it, but that’s all sorted now! You should be able to tweak it to your liking in Seikret Customization.

    • We fixed an issue that caused weapons to perform incorrectly when certain unintended bonus combinations occurred while upgrading Artian or Gogma Artian Weapons.

    • PlayStation 5

We’ve improved how quickly the program starts, especially for users who have many add-ons installed. This reduces the time it takes to load everything at startup.

  • Locales

    • We fixed a bug where Pitfall or Shock Traps could vanish if placed in specific spots in the Windward Plains.

    • We fixed a rare bug in the Gogmazios quest where two cannons could sometimes spawn instead of one.

  • Other

    • Fixed an issue where some voice lines would not trigger properly.

    • Fixed various text issues.

    • Fixed other miscellaneous issues.
